We hold ourselves out as your back-office because our comprehensive team invests funds, covers logistics around tax and legal, and has in-house experts in intentionally gifting support to entities.
Facilitate Philanthropic Investments
If you want to make gift-giving less cumbersome and more impactful, we can help. We will work to understand your values and mission, and align your goals with organizations of interest. Helping to facilitate charitable giving can be done throughout the calendar year or in a concentrated session to develop a strategic year-long giving plan. We will gather information from nonprofit organizations through intentional conversations with leadership to present you with well-aligned fits for your philanthropic investments. As a part of our due diligence, we ask deliberate questions of organizations on the impact your gift is having and how well the money is stewarded so the outcomes you are generating are presented quarterly in a streamlined way. Lastly, we will maintain privacy for you and your family while we handle all of the communication and maintain relevant documents, including electronic gift acknowledgment records, for your tax purposes.
Establish Family Foundations
Creating a Family Foundation positions your philanthropic efforts to exist into perpetuity, creating a multi-generational place for familial giving that can be decided around your unique priorities. GPG will work with you and your family to create a mission statement which will streamline your foundation giving and create a strategic plan for giving based on near-term and long-term goals. As your home office for family philanthropy, we will handle the financial, tax and legal logistics of establishing the foundation and the annual maintenance; our firm will even invest the money to generate the highest possible return. When it comes to giving gifts, we offer a comprehensive training from the basics to specifics on nonprofits and best practices in philanthropy, including policies and procedures for grantmaking and board development, assessing the foundation’s staffing needs and recruiting for roles, and overseeing board governance and operations. Our work is focused on relationships and impact, and when it's applicable, this involves engaging and coaching the next generations of the family on philanthropy, too.
Facilitate Foundation Gift-Giving
Whether you are building your Family Foundation now or have an established entity, we can help make gift-giving seamless. We interface with nonprofit organizations (grantees) to reach agreeable funding terms by gathering high-level information and aligning your interests with organizations' needs. We will hold annual board and family retreats and meetings around gift-giving, establishing and discussing mission, interests around impact, and goals. As a part of our oversight around best practices with boards and operations, we strategically look ahead to the transition of the next-generation and make a plan for seamless continuity of services within the Foundation.
